Description

Premium Crankcase (Side Cover) Gasket – Honda GX200 / 196cc Clone Engines

This high-quality 6-bolt crankcase gasket is an upgraded OEM-style replacement designed for Honda GX200 and 196cc clone-based small block engines. Made from premium black composite gasket material, it offers superior sealing performance to maintain crankcase pressure and oil control under demanding race and recreational use.

Gasket Features & Benefits:

  • 6-Bolt Design: Compatible with most GX200-style side covers and blocks
  • Material: Durable premium composite gasket paper for improved sealing
  • Thickness: ~0.0210" (±0.001") — consistent with stock spec
  • Installation: Can be installed dry or with racing-approved gasket sealer
  • Ideal For: Stock rebuilds, performance engines, and racing applications

Engine Compatibility:

This gasket fits small block engines using a 6-bolt side cover pattern, including:

  • Honda GX200 / Clone (196cc)
  • Box Stock Project 196
  • Tillotson 196 / 212 / 225
  • Ducar 196 / 212 / 224
  • Predator 212 (Hemi Only)
  • Predator 224 (Non-Hemi)
  • Ghost 212

Fitment Notes:

  • Does NOT fit Predator 212 Non-Hemi engines (different dowel pin sizing).
  • Wildcat 223 / 240: These engines typically use a 7-bolt side cover. If converted to a 6-bolt cover, this gasket is compatible. Do not use this gasket on 7-bolt side covers—it will result in improper sealing and oil leaks. Always match your gasket to your cover pattern.

Racing Rule Compliance:

AKRA 2020 Rules for Side Cover and Gaskets:

May use 2 side cover gaskets of stock configuration

NKA 2020 Rules for Side Cover and Gaskets

40.4.27: Gaskets & Sealer

40.4.27.1: Gaskets must be OEM configuration and are non-tech and sealer may be applied unless otherwise specified. No Sealers Allowed on Intake or

Carburetor side!

40.4.27.2: Crankcase gaskets: Maximum 2 gaskets and/or sealer allowed.

40.4.27.3: Non-performance enhancing marking, "engraving", sanding or other minor modifications to gasket mating surface to improve/enhance sealing capabilities are allowed.

Pro Installation Tip:

For the best seal:

  1. Thoroughly clean both mating surfaces
  2. Inspect for warping or imperfections
  3. Use a thin coat of high-temp gasket sealer (if permitted) for extra protection in endurance or high-RPM builds

FAQ

Q1: Will this gasket fit a Predator 212 Non-Hemi engine?

A: No. This gasket is not compatible with Predator 212 Non-Hemi models due to different dowel pin sizes. Use a gasket specifically made for Non-Hemi engines.

Q2: Can I use this gasket on a Wildcat 223 or 240?

A: Only if your Wildcat engine has been converted to a 6-bolt side cover. These engines typically use a 7-bolt pattern, which requires a different gasket.

Q3: What's the benefit of using a premium gasket over a standard one?

A: Premium gaskets provide improved sealing, better durability under high-RPM or high-temperature conditions, and reduced risk of oil leakage in racing or performance builds.

Q4: Is gasket sealer required during installation?

A: This gasket can be installed dry, but for racing or endurance applications, a light coat of high-temperature gasket sealer is recommended (unless restricted by your race rules).

Q5: Is this gasket legal for AKRA or NKA racing?

A: Yes. It meets OEM configuration requirements. AKRA and NKA rules allow up to two crankcase gaskets and permit gasket sealer, except on intake/carb surfaces.

Q6: Can I stack two of these gaskets for added spacing?

A: Yes. Both AKRA and NKA allow up to two crankcase gaskets. Stacking may be useful for adjusting crankshaft end play or clearances.
