Description

Shredder Cylinder Head – Bare Casting for 212cc Engines

Commonly referred to as the "Shredder Head," this unique component was designed and sand-cast by Lifan specifically for the DTV Shredder off-road vehicle equipped with a 212cc engine. With a distinctive port design and upgraded airflow characteristics, this head is ideal for engine builders seeking a performance edge.

Key Features & Compatibility

- Intake Seat: 28.5mm

- Exhaust Seat: 24mm

- Valve Guides: 5.5mm

- Combustion Chamber Volume: 18cc (identical to Honda UT1 chamber)

- Intake Bolt Spacing: 48mm (PZ-style carbs)

- Exhaust Bolt Spacing: 47.5mm (approx. 3mm wider than standard heads)

Improved Airflow & Carb Compatibility

Unlike most factory D-shaped ports (22–23mm), the Shredder Head features a large 27mm round intake port, optimized for improved airflow. It uses the PZ-style carburetor bolt pattern—compatible with popular aftermarket carburetors like the Mikuni VM22 clone, WC22, and others with 26–27mm bores and 48mm bolt spacing. Standard clone intake manifolds are not compatible due to these spacing and port changes.

Higher Compression & Better Combustion

With its 18cc combustion chamber, this head naturally raises the compression ratio when installed on most factory engines. The combustion chamber shape mirrors that of the Honda UT1 18cc head, offering efficient combustion for increased power.

Fitment Notes

- Fits any small-block, clone-based engine using 10mm cylinder head dowels

- Compatible with standard non-hemi valve train components

- Exhaust flange may require modification due to the wider bolt spacing

Valve Spring Setup & Recommendations

Approximate valve spring install height is .850" using a 2.580" valve and our aluminum single spring retainers, yielding:

22 lbs seat pressure with 272 single springs

20 lbs seat pressure with 273 single springs

Using titanium dual spring retainers increases install height to approximately .900", supporting:

56.5 lbs seat pressure with DCS-OH-HD dual springs (up to .330" lift)

35 lbs seat pressure with DCSO-S dual springs (up to .400" lift)
The install height may vary depending on valve length and retainer choice.

Recommendation

We recommend using dual valve springs with the Shredder Head, as it features deeper spring pockets and allows for a greater installation height. Ensure you're using a hard-faced camshaft and that your spring pressure is appropriate for your cam’s lift and target RPM.

Note: This listing is for the bare head casting only. Valve train components are sold separately.
