2024 Dyno Challenge Rules

Spirit & Intent

The Spirit and Intent of this competition are to showcase the ingenuity and creativity of engine builders within small engine racing, including karts, mini bikes, and Jr Drag. The competition creates an opportunity for exposure, bragging rights, and maybe a few prizes, and promoting our respective sports for the benefit of all. It's not only a competition but a time for many of those supporting our industries to gather in one place for a bit of fun.

We will set up and use our big dyno for the unlimited class.

Registration
Class sign-ups will be made on the EC Website, and engines will be sent directly to us with return labels for shipping the engines back out. After registering, you’ll need to fill out a Builder Profile, and for each class, you enter an engine form. We want to showcase the builders and their engines in our live stream and post-competition blogs and videos.

Rules

The 2024 Competition has expanded to include Big Blocks in the Unlimited Class.

Engine classes are designed to display the possibilities with many readily available components. We believe the class rules should be relative to our markets and racing.

- All engines must be industrial-based, 4-cycle, single-cylinder, small-block engines, either flathead or OHV(No Wankel or OHC engines).

- Small Block is classified based on the factory engine's mounting bolt pattern, 3/4" PTO. If you are unsure about an engine platform, ask us before bringing your engine.

- Big Block is based on the Honda GX390/Big Block Clones with a 1-inch PTO. Must fit GX390 mounting pattern 7.69"L x 3.375"W or Wildcat 460 mounting pattern 8.5"L x 3.5 - 4.00"W. If you are unsure about an engine platform, ask us before bringing your engine.
