The butterfly has some effect on the fuel signal not just by control the air coming into the carburetor but its direction. Some carburetor builder points the backside of the butterfly toward the low side circuit to improve signal and draw more fuel while others focus on positioning the butterfly for optima flow at wide-open throttle.
