Description

Wildcat WC22 Performance Carburetor Kit – 86 CFM Round Slide for High-RPM Engines

Built for Power. Tuned for Performance. Trusted by Racers.

The Wildcat WC22 isn’t just another "VM22-style" carburetor—it’s a ground-up redesign that improves the performance, airflow, and tunability of traditional round slide carbs. Purpose-built for high-revving small engines like the Predator 212 Hemi, Tillotson 212/228R, Wildcat 223/240, and Honda GX200-based clones, the WC22 offers unmatched throttle response, top-end power, and high-RPM fueling.

Key Features & Specs

  • Airflow: 86 CFM @ 28" H2O
  • Venturi: Oval – 25mm tall × 18.7mm wide
  • Bore: 26mm – ideal for engines operating above 6000 RPM
  • Tuned for: 12.0–12.5:1 AFR @ sea level to 1800 ft elevation
  • Recommended Idle Speed: 1900–2200 RPM
  • Optimized for Engines Making Power Between 4000–9000+ RPM

Unlike knock-off Mikuni “VM22” or Chikuni carbs that are clones of the Walbro PZ26, the WC22 is redesigned from the casting up for true performance use. Its airflow and throttle signal characteristics outperform stock PZ22 or Chinese “VM22” carbs—especially in engines where power needs to be made above 6000 RPM.

Why Choose the Wildcat WC22 Over Other VM22 Carbs?

  • Precision Tuned for High RPM Power
Ideal for builds needing strong midrange and top-end gains. While most stock carbs top out around 6000 RPM, the WC22 supports 7000–9000 RPM+ powerbands.
  • Idle & AFR Optimization
Tuned out of the box for 12.5:1 AFR and mid-to-high RPM operation. Not intended for ultra-low idle applications—minimum recommended idle: 2000–2200 RPM.
  • Improved Fitment
Replaces the bulky side choke lever found on Chinese clones with a compact knob choke, eliminating valve cover clearance issues.
  • Custom Billet Intake with Pulse Fitting
Includes EC’s 475INT Billet Intake Manifold with built-in vacuum pulse port for fuel pumps. This custom-fit design places the carb closer to the engine for tighter installations on mini bikes and race karts.

Important Fitment & Setup Notes

  • Requires a Fuel Pump or Elevated Tank
The carb’s fuel inlet position is incompatible with stock gravity-fed fuel tanks. You’ll need either:
    • A remote tank, elevated stock tank, or
    • A vacuum-operated fuel pump (pulse fitting included on the intake)
  • Exhaust Compatibility
Use with open headers that have a minimum ID of 0.870"
    • Optimal exhaust: .930"–.960" ID, open or with RLV 4104/4106 muffler
Do NOT use with stock or screw-on lawnmower-style mufflers—they create excessive back pressure and severely limit performance.
  • Altitude Tuning
Carburetor is tuned at <1800 ft elevation. Higher elevations will require retuning. Call us before ordering if you're above this range.

Kit Includes

  • EC-Built Wildcat WC22 Round Slide Carburetor (86 CFM @ 28”)
  • 475INT Billet Intake Manifold with Pulse Fitting for Fuel Pump
  • AFR3880 High-Flow Air Filter

Proven Performance

Used successfully in:

  • EC Stage 3 Kits
  • Tillotson 228R Engines
  • Wildcat 240 Performance Engines

Whether you're racing, building a high-rev mini bike, or fine-tuning a kart for peak torque, the WC22 Carburetor Kit is your go-to choice for high-performance fueling.

FAQ

Q: Will this carburetor fit my stock Predator 212 Hemi engine?

A: The WC22 carburetor is designed for modified engines. For stock engines, consider the EC Stage 2 Performance Kit for optimal performance.

Q: Do I need to rejet the carburetor for my specific setup?

A: The carburetor is factory-tuned for peak power at a 12–12.5:1 air-fuel ratio. Adjustments may be necessary based on your engine modifications and elevation.

Q: Can I use the stock exhaust system with this carburetor?

A: Stock exhaust systems are not recommended as they may restrict airflow. Use headers with a minimum inside diameter of 0.870 inches or RLV 4104/4106 mufflers for optimal performance.

Q: Is a fuel pump required for installation?

A: Due to the carburetor's fuel inlet position, stock fuel tanks may not provide adequate gravity feed. Elevation of the fuel tank or use of a remote tank with a fuel pump is recommended.

Q: What spark plug should I use with this carburetor?

A: We recommend using the Torch K7RTI Fine Wire Iridium spark plug with a gap of 0.026"–0.032". Avoid using Autolite 3910X plugs, as they tend to foul easily in gas-powered engines.

One baddddd little carb
I built my first 212 with a .570 flat top piston, stock size billet rod, black mamba jr cam, ported the hemi head myself with 26lb springs... I took a shot in the dark on this carb and 2nd pull she fired.. a little high idle but that was easy to fix. This is a great carb for a mild to wild build! The ec slide is weet to!
