Description

The ARC 6611-IV Billet Adjustable Flywheel w/Aluminum Ring Gear fits the Briggs & Stratton Model 40, Model 44, and Model 49 Intek V-Twin Engines.

ARC's SFI certified billet aluminum flywheel for the Briggs and Stratton Briggs 40-49ci Intek V-Twin Engine often used in lawnmower racing. The 6611 flywheels are designed as a bolt-on billet aluminum replacement for the cast-iron stock flywheel. The ring gear is a replaceable bolt-on piece made of steel, making it considerably stronger than any other present alternative. (7075 billet aluminum ring gear is available if requested.) ARC flywheels have their signature steel adjustable timing hub, which allows at-the-track timing changes at 1° increment in as little as 90 seconds without using offset keys or engine disassembly. The adjustable hub also makes it fast and easy to set timing during engine assembly accurately.

Other outstanding features include  A 17% increase in voltage produced at the coil with a more accurate discharge of that current due to the aluminum body. A 38% overall increase of voltage produced by the coil  Forward Curve fin design optimizes fan efficiency. Neodymium (rare earth) magnet is the most powerful on the market.  The timing hub also functions as an ingenious flywheel remover.

This flywheel is designed to be used with the Hi-Torque Briggs Starter #845759. This is the only starter you can use with the aluminum ring gear and our steel ring gear. The cost of that starter is $220. With our stronger steel ring gear installed, you can use our starter #808726EC which is 15% stronger and cost $100 less. Buy both our ring gear and starter to save more.

This flywheel is designed with the intent of sanction racing only. This flywheel is not made to be used with stock charging systems.

Caution! Advancing the ignition timing too much may sound good at idle but will not always make more power. Too much timing will cause preignition (Engine Knock or Rattle), overheating, and exhaust valve flutter. Too much ignition has been the cause of many crankshaft failures. This is common on single OHV engines like the Intek Engine, even using balanced billet crankshafts. Offset Flywheel Key select part number 2020-2090 for different keys
