The Animal is Briggs & Stratton's Racing OHV Engine based on their Intek Model OHV Industrial engine. This was the first racing OHV Engine that would replace their famous L-Head 5hp Raptor Engine. Their are various version of the Briggs Animal used in kart racing, quarter midgets, and snowmobile. The LO206 and World Formula Engines are derived from the Animal architecture.
