EC Advanced Billet Side Cover – Performance Engine Upgrade for Honda GX200 & Clones


The latest version of the EC Advanced Billet Side Cover brings performance, precision, and ease of use to a new level. Designed for Honda GX200-style engines and compatible clones, this upgraded billet side cover improves durability, oil capacity, and crankcase pressure control—while simplifying installation and maintenance for serious racers and builders.

Key Features & Engineering Updates:

Redesigned Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Setup

  • PCV Valve Removed: Due to customer feedback, the built-in PCV valve has been eliminated. Most users route ventilation through the valve cover or external catch can, improving clarity and function.
  • Optional PCV Use: You can still add a PCV valve using the top oil fill hole with a 280 valve.
  • Pulse Fitting Included: Use for oil recirculation or pulse-operated fuel pumps, especially when top oil holes are blocked.


Optimized Oil Fill & Dipstick Placement

  • Top Oil Fill Only: Improved clearance for stock fuel tanks and electric starters.
  • Billet Dipstick: Now located on the front—easier access for go-karts and mini bikes.
  • Rear Fill Hole Removed: No longer needed, reducing potential leak points and hardware complexity.
  • Black Anodized Finish: Prevents galling and seizing of dipstick and cap, ensuring smooth maintenance.


Maintains Full Oil Capacity

Unlike other billet covers that flatten the internal surface and reduce sump volume, EC's design retains the engine’s original oil capacity. Benefits include:

  • Cap Screws Included: Accepts 8Mx35 socket head cap screws, or upgrade to the optional EC Stud Kit for even greater strength and alignment.
  • Recommended for Use with Tillotson Reinforced Blocks


Precision Camshaft Bearing Support

  • Steel Cam Bearing: Outlasts aluminum or bronze bushings and reduces friction—easier to replace, too.


Optional Stud Setup Instructions

If using studs, install solid dowels first to ensure proper alignment. Installing studs before seating the cover can cause misalignment and potential damage to the block or cover.

Q2: What’s the benefit of eliminating the built-in PCV valve?
A2: Based on customer feedback, the PCV valve was removed to simplify venting and allow greater flexibility. Most racers now route crankcase ventilation through the valve cover or to an external catch can. However, a PCV valve can still be added to the top fill port using a 280-style valve if needed.


Q3: Can I still use a fuel pump with this cover?
A3: Yes! The included pulse fitting allows for oil recirculation or operation of a pulse-style fuel pump. This is especially useful when the top oil fill ports are blocked or rerouted.


Q4: Does this side cover reduce the engine’s oil capacity?
A4: No. Unlike many billet side covers that reduce internal sump volume, this cover preserves full OEM oil capacity—helping improve cooling, lubrication, and oil longevity under racing conditions.
