Harbor Freight Engines

Ghost 212 - Harbor Freight's racing 212cc engine is designed as an alternative to the Briggs LO206. The engine is manufactured by Ducar and shares many of the same components as the Ducar 212 and Tillotson 212E engines, including block, rotating assembly, and cylinder head. The engine is upgraded with a rev-limited coil instead of a mechanical governor, a slightly bigger cam, and a PZ22 slide carburetor.

79cc Predator -

212cc Hemi Predator - Popular for out-of-the-box dirt karting and upgraded engine for mini bikes. The Hemi version has a hemi head which produces a little more low-end torque vs the non-hemi despite the larger combustion chamber. The Hemi uses the same camshaft as the Honda and Honda-Clones and has the same size dowel pins on the cylinder head and side cover which makes it easier to find replacement and aftermarket parts.

212cc Non-Hemi Predator - Popular for out-of-the-box dirt karting and upgraded engine for mini bikes. The Non-hemi Predator has non-hemi(parallel valves) that use 5mm valves and has split locks and steel retainers, which made them very popular. However, the Non-Hemi 212 has different dowel pins, cam journals, flywheel taper unlike any other engine making them difficult to have the same options as the Hemi 212 or other Honda-Clone engines.

224cc Non-Hemi Predator - The Predator 224cc non-hemi engine has gained popularity in karting and mini-bike racing thanks to its added displacement. This Predator uses the same flywheels as the Honda-Clone and can use the same camshafts with clearance of the compression release. The crankpin is also the same as the Honda-Clone, but the wrist pin is larger, .718, like the Ducar 212/224 and Ghost 212. There is now a Predator 224 Hemi that doesn't share the same parts as any of the other Predator small engines. Check your engine before you buy any aftermarket components.
