Tillotson 268R Engine

Tillotson 196R - We designed the Tillotson 196R for the Box Stock Karting competition. The engine was so good that some believed it was an unfair advantage and banned them from competition. Check with your track and rules.

Tillotson 212E/EE - Ducar manufactures the Tillotson 212E as a replacement engine for Tillotson's power equipment and generators. The engines have been popular replacements for stock 196cc engines on recreational go-karts and mini bikes.

Tillotson 212R - We designed the Tillotson 212R as an alternative to the 196cc box stock and Predator 212cc engines as a local-level class for dirt karting. The engine combines a non-hemi head with a flat top piston for higher compression, box stock cam and tuned PK carburetor. The reinforced block and engine specs made it the best 212cc platform on the market.

Tillotson 225R/RS - We designed the Tillotson 225RS with less carburetor and exhaust. The Tillotson 225RS is a spec, rev-limited engine for sprint karting comparable to the Briggs World Formula. The engine has a billet flywheel and connecting rod, PVL ignition, 72mm lightweight racing piston, and reinforced racing block.

Tillotson 228R - We took the 225R and stroked it 1mm to make 228cc. We have upgraded and tuned the carburetor to our WC22 26mm slide carburetor. The mark II 228R has also been upgraded with our WC946 cylinder head with 31mm intake and 25mm exhaust. We wanted a non-rev limited version of the 225 but with more power and capabilities.

Tillotson 236R/RX - We use the Tillotson 72mm block with a 58mm crankshaft to produce 236cc or 14.41ci, which is perfect for the 14.5ci open modified classes or anyone wanting a bigger displacement Tillotson engine for racing. The difference in the R vs. RX is the piston and rod length. The R uses the Tillotson 72mm piston, and the RX uses our new forged piston with moly-coated skirts and shorter compression height to allow a slightly longer rod.

Tillotson 240RX - Like the 236cc, we use the 72mm bore Tillotson block but now with a 59mm crankshaft to maximize displacement with the 72mm bore for those not running the 14.5ci classes or rules that limit displacement. The engine uses our forged 72mm pistons and can be rebuilt with oversized pistons.

Tillotson 263/268R - We bore the Tillotson blocks to 76mm or 2.99". The 263R has a 58mm crankshaft, and the 268R has a 59mm crankshaft. These kits require expert-level engine building and will need to run on high-octane race gas or, preferably, methanol.
