Description

Stock 5mm Valve Locks (Split Keepers) – For 5mm Stem Valves

OEM-style 5mm split valve locks for high-RPM stability and secure retainer fitment. Compatible with factory and aftermarket retainers.

Description

These automotive-style 5mm split valve locks are designed for use with 5mm valve stems, providing a secure, reliable connection between the valve and the retainer. Unlike slip-on retainers commonly used with 5.5mm valves, these split locks (also known as keepers) offer a more stable and performance-oriented setup—especially in high-RPM applications.

Precision-fit to OEM 5mm retainers as well as EC’s billet aluminum and titanium retainers, these valve locks are ideal for both stock rebuilds and modified engines.

Key Features:

  • OEM Fitment: Works with stock 5mm retainers and EC aftermarket billet/titanium retainers
  • Secure Design: Split lock style provides stronger valve retention compared to slip-on retainers
  • High-RPM Ready: Preferred by builders for performance and racing applications
  • Sold Individually: One set per retainer (retainers sold separately)

Compatible With Engines Using 5mm Valves:

  • Tillotson 212R
  • Tillotson 225RS
  • Predator 212 Non-Hemi
  • Ghost 212
  • Wildcat 223 / 240
  • Ducar 212
  • Tillotson 212E

Installation Notes:

  • Each retainer requires one set of split locks
  • Stock 5mm Retainers (Part #138210103) are available separately

Upgrade to 5mm split locks for a more robust valvetrain setup—ideal for racing, modified builds, and high-RPM engines.
