This feature is used in most cases as a safety feature in case of an accident. In kart racing and lawnmower racing, it is much more convenient, where the bottom of the steering wheel is almost in your lap. Removing the steering wheel allows better access to your race seat when sitting in the vehicle.
The Steering wheel hub is made of aluminum and anodized red for a clean finish. The steel steering hub is weldable to a 3/4" steering shaft or can be welded to a 5/8" steering shaft using a 3/4" to 5/8" steel bushing.
