Description

Rocker Arm Adjusting Nut – Honda GX390 / Predator 420 / Wildcat 460 (Wedge / Non-Hemi Heads Only)

This steel rocker arm adjusting nut is designed for setting valve lash on Wedge (Non-Hemi) style cylinder heads commonly found on Honda GX390, Predator 420, and Wildcat 460 big block clone engines.

It threads onto the M6 x 0.75 rocker stud, allowing precise valve lash adjustment during performance tuning or routine maintenance. This part is not compatible with Hemi-style heads, which use shaft-mounted rocker arms rather than stud-mounted designs.

Product Features:

  • Thread Size: M6 x 0.75
  • Material: Durable hardened steel
  • Fitment: For Wedge / Non-Hemi heads only (Stud-mounted rocker arms)
  • Adjustment: Use a 14mm wrench for valve lash adjustment
  • Applications: Honda GX390, Predator 420, Wildcat 460, and most big block clone engines
  • Use Case: Adjusts valve lash for optimal cam timing and performance

Compatibility Note:

  • Does NOT fit Hemi-style cylinder heads, which use a shaft-mounted rocker system.
  • Fits Wedge (Non-Hemi) heads with stud-mounted rockers only.

Ideal For:

  • Performance engine builds
  • Racing lawnmowers and pulling tractors
  • General maintenance and valve adjustments on GX390-style engines

FAQ

Q1: Will this rocker arm nut fit my engine?

A: This nut is specifically designed for Wedge (Non-Hemi) style cylinder heads found on Honda GX390, Predator 420, and Wildcat 460 engines. It will not fit Hemi-style heads, which use a different rocker system.

Q2: What are the thread specifications of this nut?

A: The nut features M6 x 0.75 thread, designed to fit the rocker studs used on non-hemi GX390-style engines.

Q3: How do I know if I have a Wedge (Non-Hemi) or Hemi head?

A:

  • Wedge (Non-Hemi) heads use stud-mounted rocker arms.
  • Hemi heads use shaft-mounted rocker arms.
Check your valve train setup before ordering.

Q4: Is this part suitable for performance or racing engines?

A: Yes! It is made of hardened steel for durability and is commonly used in racing lawnmowers, pulling tractors, and other performance GX390 builds.

Q5: Do I need any special tools to install or adjust this nut?

A: A standard wrench or socket for the nut and a feeler gauge for setting valve lash are typically all that’s needed. Always torque to manufacturer specs if available.
