Upgrade your engine’s compression without machining! This .010" thin head gasket is an easy performance mod for 70mm bore engines such as the Predator 212 Hemi, Tillotson 212, Wildcat 223, and other Honda clone-style engines. By replacing your standard thick gasket with this thinner version, you can increase your static compression ratio, improving torque and throttle response instantly.


Compression Gains by Gasket Swap

Simply remove your stock gasket (typically .045") and install this .010" gasket to increase compression.

  • Clearances Are Critical:
    • Thin head gaskets reduce piston-to-head clearance.
    • Check piston-to-valve clearance—minimum .120" recommended for high-RPM builds.
    • Insufficient clearance can lead to blown head gaskets, piston-to-head contact, or internal damage.

Yes, but we recommend verifying your piston-to-head and valve clearances, especially at high RPMs. Builds with zero deck, high-lift cams, or milled heads need careful measurement.


Q4: Do I need to upgrade fuel when running this gasket?

Higher compression increases the risk of detonation. You may need to run higher-octane fuel, especially when using this gasket with 18cc or 14cc heads.

Yes. The thinner gasket brings the head closer to the piston, affecting piston-to-valve clearance. We recommend:

  • Minimum .120" clearance for high-RPM engines.
  • Always measure clearances before final assembly.


Q6: How do I know if I have 10mm or 12mm dowel pins?

Check the diameter of your existing dowel pins or the holes in the cylinder head. This gasket is designed for 10mm dowels. The Predator 212 Non-Hemi uses 12mm, and is not compatible.
