EC Carburetors imported the WildCat as a cost-saving alternative to many of the Honda or Clone-based and Briggs Racing engines that crowd the market. The 240cc displacement due to its 59mm stroke crankshaft and 72mm bore gives the engine more torque and power potential than small block engines. This platform created new opportunities for further engine development, making it a competitive 4-cycle karting racing engine.
