Wildcat WC22 Carburetor Kit — Redesigned for Enhanced Performance and Tunability
The new Wildcat WC22 is far more than a typical VM-style carburetor—it’s a complete redesign focused on improving the performance and tunability of round-slide carburetors. Before ordering, we highly recommend reading our WC22 Tuning and Troubleshooting Guide to get the best results.
Application & Compatibility:
This carburetor is engineered for use with open 0.870" (or larger) headers featuring open ends or RLV 4104/4106 mufflers. It is not suitable for engines with stock or screw-on mufflers. Due to the fuel inlet location relative to a stock fuel tank, gravity feed will not work properly. You will need to elevate the stock fuel tank, use a remote fuel tank, or add a fuel pump for proper operation.
Why the Wildcat WC22?
Our EC blueprinted Chinese VM22 quickly gained popularity for its unmatched power in performance builds compared to other VM or similar carburetors. However, the knock-off VM22 had shortcomings, especially an overly rich idle that was ideal for racing but less suitable for mild or cruiser builds.
To address these issues, EC developed the Wildcat WC22 in partnership with the Wildcat Engine brand. Featuring a superior casting and key design modifications, the WC22 offers improved idling, better tuning, and reliable performance up to 9000 RPM—challenging many flat-slide carburetors on the market.
Unlike most VM22 carburetors designed for smaller mini-moto or dirt bike engines, the WC22 is specifically tailored for the displacement and modifications common in our small-block industrial-style engines.
Design Improvements:
The original Chinese VM carburetor choke lever was bulky and prone to interference with the engine. We replaced it with a sleek knob for improved fitment and a cleaner look.
The kit includes our precision-engineered billet intake manifold with a pulse fitting for vacuum fuel pumps, unlike generic intakes found elsewhere. This design brings the carburetor closer to the cylinder head, ideal for mini-bikes and tight engine bays.

- The carburetor is pre-tuned for elevations under 1800 feet. Higher elevations will require further tuning—please contact us before ordering if this applies.
- Avoid stock exhausts or "weenie pipe" headers for optimal results.
