Description

MCP 10" x 3/16" Brake Disc – 6-Bolt Hub for Racing Go-Karts & Lawnmowers

The MCP 10-Inch Brake Rotor is engineered for use with 6-bolt heavy-duty sprocket carriers, such as the 3602 (1-1/4” axle) and 2537 (1.00” axle). Precision-cut from durable 3/16" steel, this high-performance disc is ideal for heavier, high-speed racing machines like racing lawnmowers and competitive go-karts.

Maximum Stopping Power with Greater Mechanical Leverage

Compared to standard 7.125" rotors, the larger 10-inch diameter provides significantly better braking leverage. This added leverage increases stopping force and reduces the effort needed to lock the rear wheels—especially important for vehicles that rely solely on a rear brake system.

If your setup allows the ground clearance, upgrading to a 10" disc is one of the most effective ways to boost braking performance on heavier or high-torque machines.

Ideal for:

  • Racing Lawnmowers
  • Oval Track & Road Course Go-Karts
  • Custom builds without front brake setups

Rotor Specifications:

  • Diameter: 10"
  • Thickness: 3/16"
  • Mounting: 6-Bolt Pattern
  • Compatible Hubs: 3602 (1-1/4” axle), 2537 (1.00” axle)
  • Material: Precision-machined steel

Why Upgrade to a 10" Rotor?

  • Increased leverage = more stopping power
  • Helps prevent brake fade on longer tracks
  • Reduces braking distance and increases control during corner entry
  • Essential for machines running only rear braking systems

FAQ

Q1: What’s the advantage of a 10” brake disc over a standard 7.125” rotor?

A: The larger 10” diameter provides more mechanical leverage, allowing for stronger braking force with less pedal effort. This is especially helpful for heavier or faster machines, or setups that don’t use front brakes.

Q2: Will this rotor fit my go-kart?

A: It fits most racing go-karts and lawnmowers that use a 6-bolt sprocket hub, such as the MCP 3602 (1-1/4" axle) or 2537 (1.00" axle). Always verify hub and axle compatibility before ordering.

Q3: Can I use this rotor on both front and rear brakes?

A: It’s designed primarily for rear brake systems, especially in vehicles that don't use front brakes. If your chassis supports front braking with this size rotor, it may also be used there.

Q4: What kind of brake caliper should I pair with this disc?

A: We recommend using MCP brake calipers such as the 1125BB Mini-Lite Caliper or other MCP units designed for 3/16” thick rotors.

Q5: Do I need special ground clearance to use this brake disc?

A: Yes. The 10” rotor sits lower than smaller discs, so adequate ground clearance is essential to avoid interference with the ground or frame under load or braking.
