The Tillotson HD carburetor has long been out of production—over 40 years now—yet its legacy lives on with vintage snowmobile enthusiasts who faithfully preserve original vehicles. Unfortunately, aging carburetors like these pose unique challenges: stock parts are rare, and aftermarket solutions often fall short in precision and reliability.


Our P20-RK EC Pro Rebuild Kit offers a full rebuild solution using mostly aftermarket parts—except where performance critically matters. In those areas, we've engineered components that outperform all other aftermarket options.


What Sets This Kit Apart

The most common failure point in HD carb rebuilds is the fuel inlet seat. Cheap replacements often result in flooding during idle or low-speed conditions—fuel spills out of the high-side nozzle uncontrollably, even when the check valve seems to be functioning.


Here's why: flooding isn't caused by the nozzle valve itself—it stems from an inlet seat that doesn't regulate fuel delivery properly. Many cheap kits try to compensate with a spring that’s too stiff, compounding tuning instability and poor performance.


Our solution? A premium USA-made EC HD fuel inlet seat, precisely machined to maintain the factory-specified fit and tension. It works with the original Tillotson inlet needle and allows the correct inlet tension spring for optimal tuning and performance—without masking the issue.

the HD cure!
This needle/seat will cure the infamous HD instability. I have unsuccessfully tried two of the commonly available kits. The needle/seat look different from OEM, but the dimensions work out, so use them. It turns out the HD is a very fine carb. The included diagram is good, but also download the HD manual from Tillotson and follow it to the letter. Used on my '69 Johnson Skee-Horse.
