Description

EC Billet Intake Manifold for Briggs 5HP Flathead (Model 13) – Adapts PZ22 Carburetors

Upgrade your classic Briggs 5HP Flathead (Model 13) engine with the EC Billet Intake Manifold, specifically designed to replace the factory carburetor with a high-performance Walbro, Briggs, or Denki PZ22 slide-style carburetor. This intake manifold provides improved airflow, increased throttle response, and better tuning capability over the stock setup—ideal for performance builds and racing applications.

Fits wide bolt spacing found on 1990+ Briggs 5HP Flathead engines

Pulse fitting included to operate an external fuel pump for consistent fuel delivery

Note: This manifold does NOT fit Mikuni VM22 or Chikuni knock-off VM22 carburetors. It is engineered exclusively for the PZ22-style carburetors listed above.

Additional Requirements:
To complete the conversion, you will need a remote fuel tank, as the original Briggs tank is incompatible with this setup.

Perfect For:

  • Vintage Go-Karts
  • Mini Bikes using 5HP Briggs engines
  • Flathead racing builds
  • Custom engine swaps

Recommended Carburetors:

  • Walbro PZ22
  • Briggs/Walbro PZ22 (World Formula)
  • Denki PZ22 (Ghost 212 OEM carburetor)

FAQ

Q1: Which carburetors does this intake adapt?

A1: This billet intake is specifically designed to fit Walbro PZ22, Briggs/Walbro PZ22 (World Formula), and Denki PZ22 carburetors. It is not compatible with Mikuni VM22 or Chikuni clone carburetors.

Q2: Will this fit all Briggs 5HP flathead engines?

A2: It fits 5HP (Model 13) Briggs Horizontal-Flathead engines with the wide bolt spacing introduced in 1990 and newer models. Older engines or different spacing may not be compatible.

Q3: Do I need to modify the fuel system when installing this manifold?

A3: Yes. This manifold requires a remote fuel tank and includes a pulse fitting for use with an external fuel pump. The stock Briggs fuel tank and feed line cannot be reused.

Q4: Does the kit include a throttle linkage bracket?

A4: No. This is just the manifold adapter. The throttle cable goes straight to the slide carburetor, which has a built-in throttle return spring.

Q5: What are the performance benefits of this intake?

A5: Your engine will benefit from enhanced airflow and throttle response due to the larger PZ22 slide-style carb, supported by the billet manifold. It also supports higher-performance builds using external fuel systems.

I purchased the #407 adapter Briggs Flathead to PZ22 recently. Fast shipping , beautifully finished, but like a pair of pants from Sears, no clearance for the nuts! Maybe I am dense or something , but it fits great over the studs, the nuts won't fit. I had to mill 3 RCH off each side to gain room for my nuts. They need to get a better taylor! Overall a great product ! Thank you

Mr
This will not work with a genuine Mikuni VM22. I assume it works with the chinese copies since they sell a kit with one. If I drill out the threads on the mounting holes of a pz26 it will fit. This will work on a 5hp with the 2 intake bolt holes. There is a threaded hole in the back of the intake. You will have to drill out the threads in the bottom hole on the block and run a bolt from the back through the intake hole in the block and into the intake. You may have to do some clearancing on the fins to get the bolt in. This will also work on 3hp blocks.
