The biggest upgrade from Stage 2 to Stage 3 is the combination of a high-flow carburetor and a performance camshaft. These two components unlock significant horsepower gains above 4500 RPM, ideal for short-track racing, high-speed cruising, or competitive kart racing.


Recommended Clutch engagement: 3800-5000rpms, 3500rpms minimum

1. Wildcat WC22 Round Slide Carburetor Kit

  • Based on the PZ26, this 26mm round-slide carb flows approximately 85 CFM.
  • Custom-calibrated for Honda GX200 and 196cc Clone engines.
  • Supports increased airflow for modified heads.
  • Highly recommended: port your cylinder head to maximize carburetor efficiency.

2. TTS-265 Banzai Camshaft w/ 26lb Valve Springs

  • Legendary performance cam with .265” lift, offering a wide powerband from 4500 to 7000+ RPM.
  • Ideal for street builds, sprint kart racing, and high-performance mini bikes.
  • Same cam profile used in the Tillotson 225RS race engine.

3. Rev Wheel Billet Flywheel

Header Note:

Exhaust headers are NOT included to allow flexibility in choosing the right header for your build.

  • Compatible with headers that have .870” or larger inside diameters.
  • Optimal power: .930” - .960” ID, no muffler.
  • If mufflers are required: Use only the 4106 RLV Muffler.
  • Do NOT use screw-on lawnmower mufflers or "weenie" pipes.

Recommended Oil & Spark Plug for Maximum Performance

  • Break-In Oil: Maxima 5w-16
  • Running Oil: Maxima RS 0w-20

Recommended Spark Plug:

  • Torch K7RTI Fine Wire Iridium
    • Improves ignition, throttle response, and starting.
    • Gap: .026"–.032"

Avoid Autolite 3910X plugs: They often foul prematurely and cause hard starting or misfires in gas engines.

Q: What’s the difference between EC’s Stage 2 and Stage 3 kits?

The Stage 3 Kit includes a larger carburetor and a more aggressive camshaft, making it suitable for builds running 4500 RPM and up. It delivers significantly more power than the Stage 2 setup.


Q: Will this work on a stock 196cc engine?

Yes, but for best results, we recommend upgrading your cylinder head with porting and ensuring your valve train can handle higher RPMs.


Q: Is the carburetor a real Mikuni?

No. The Wildcat WC22 is based on the PZ26, not a Mikuni. However, it is a unique casting with EC’s fuel calibration, making it ideal for clone engine builds.


Q: Is this kit legal for stock class racing?

This depends on your class rules. While most parts are legal for “modified stock” classes, the carburetor and camshaft may disqualify you from strict “stock only” categories. Always check your rulebook.


Q: Can I add a header later?

Absolutely. This kit is header-ready, and we designed it to let you choose the best header for your application. Just make sure the ID matches the specs above.
