Description

Stainless Steel Push Rods – OEM Style (3-Piece) for GX200, Predator 212 & Clone Engines

These OEM-style 3-piece push rods are made from ferritic stainless steel, offering superior resistance to corrosion and oxidation—an essential feature for small engines that operate without oil filtration. Their robust design ensures consistent valve performance and long service life in both racing and industrial applications.

Unlike common assumptions, ferritic stainless steel is magnetic due to its iron-based structure and chromium content. This type of stainless provides excellent ductility and durability while helping to prevent internal engine contamination caused by rust or flaking under high stress.

These push rods are manufactured to stock length (5.280") and serve as direct replacements for factory GX200/Clone-style engines or as performance upgrades in Non-Hemi builds and Hemi-to-Non-Hemi head conversions.

Specifications:

  • Length: 5.280” ± .005”
  • Weight: ~11 grams
  • Stem Diameter: 0.1555" (4mm)
  • Ball-End Diameter: 0.1955" (5mm)
  • Material: Ferritic stainless steel
  • Design: 3-piece (tube with two solid ball ends – AKRA/NKA legal)

Fits the Following Engines:

  • Honda GX200 / Clone (196cc)
  • Box Stock Project 196
  • Tillotson 196R / 212R / 225RS (Not 212E)
  • Ducar 196 / 224
  • Predator 212 (Non-Hemi)
  • Predator 224 (Non-Hemi)
  • Wildcat 240
  • Most other non-Hemi clone-style small block engines
  • Engines converted from Hemi to Non-Hemi cylinder heads

Note: Ideal for valve lash reliability and rule-compliant builds in both performance and stock classes.

FAQ

1. Are these push rods magnetic?

Yes, these are made from ferritic stainless steel, which is magnetic due to its chromium-rich, iron-based structure.

2. What’s the benefit of using stainless push rods?

They resist corrosion, oxidation, and wear—especially important in engines without oil filters. Ideal for racing or high-runtime industrial applications.

3. Are these legal for AKRA or NKA racing?

Yes. They meet AKRA/NKA 2020 rules for push rod length, weight, and 3-piece design. Always check the latest rulebooks for your class.

4. Can I use these in a Hemi engine?

Not directly. These are designed for Non-Hemi cylinder heads. They’re commonly used when converting a Hemi engine to a Non-Hemi head.

5. What is the correct push rod length for clone engines?

These push rods measure 5.280" ± .005", which falls within AKRA/NKA specs and matches most stock 196cc/212cc non-Hemi setups.
