4200 RPM Rev-Limited Ignition Coil – Honda GX200 / Clone / Predator Engines
The 4200 RPM Rev-Limited Coil is purpose-built for Kid Kart, Rookie, and Cadet classes, offering consistent and safe engine performance for younger or entry-level drivers. Perfect for spec-class racing or recreational builds, this coil helps manage top-end speed while maintaining usable torque for smooth, controlled acceleration.
Built for Junior Safety & Controlled Performance
Matched with Red (.375") or Black (.400") restrictor plates, this coil is ideal for lightweight driver classes where keeping speeds in check is critical. While the restrictor plate reduces airflow and power output, OHV engines still produce excellent torque, making this combo both safe and effective.
To further limit kart speed and maintain competitive balance, gear ratio and tire circumference rules can also be implemented alongside this rev limiter setup.
Installation & Usage Recommendations:
- Best paired with stock cast aluminum flywheels, such as the 138210105 model.
- Avoid use with aftermarket flywheels containing neo magnets—prolonged limiter engagement may damage the coil.
- Recommended spark plugs: Single ground strap plugs((recommended Torch K7RTI or similar fine wire iridium spark plugs) gapped between .027"–.034".
- Avoid multi-ground plugs or plugs with tight gaps, as they can cause erratic RPM surges and allow the engine to exceed the coil’s intended rev limit.
- For sanctioned racing, tech inspection of spark plugs is highly recommended to ensure class compliance.

(The coil fits 212 Non-Hemi. The recommended cast aluminum flywheel taper does not fit the Predator 212 Non-Hemi, which has a slightly different taper than the Honda/Clone)
