The EC Pinnacle-Series 3.354” Forged Connecting Rod is a high-performance billet rod originally developed for the Tillotson 228R engine, and now trusted in a wide range of high-displacement small engines, including the Wildcat 240 and custom 268cc stroker builds.


Crafted from premium billet aluminum and precisely balanced, this rod is designed for race-level durability, making it the ideal upgrade for modified Honda GX200s, 212cc Clones, and Tillotson-based engines running larger pistons and longer strokes.

Important Notes:

  • Always check piston-to-valve clearance and crankcase tolerances when installing longer rods or larger pistons.
  • Use engine oil only when torquing rod bolts.
  • Not compatible with 14mm wrist pin pistons or Predator non-Hemi builds without modification.

1. What engines is the EC Pinnacle 3.354” Connecting Rod compatible with?

This rod was originally designed for the Tillotson 228R but is also compatible with Wildcat 240 engines and 268cc custom builds using a 76mm piston and 59mm stroke crank.


2. What size crankpin and wrist pin does this rod use?

The large end journal fits the standard Honda/Clone 1.180" crankpin. The small end is sized for a 13mm wrist pin, compatible with Tillotson pistons (part #138220006), EC 76mm Pistons, & EC Forged 72mm Piston


3. Can I use this rod in a Predator 212 engine?

It may be used in Predator 212 builds only if you’re using a 13mm wrist pin piston and have modified the engine for big bore or stroker setups. This is not a stock replacement part.


4. How much torque should be applied to the rod bolts?

Rod bolts should be torqued to 150 in-lbs (inch-pounds) using standard engine oil—do not use thread locker or assembly lube.


5. Do I need to modify my engine block to fit this rod?

Yes—depending on your build. For the 268cc combo, you’ll need to bore the Tillotson R-Series block to 76mm. Always check clearances and piston height when changing stroke or rod length.


6. Is this connecting rod balanced and pre-assembled?

Yes. The rod comes precision-machined, weight-matched, and includes high-strength bolts and bearings pre-installed.


7. Does this rod work with 14mm wrist pin pistons?

No, this rod is specifically designed for 13mm wrist pin pistons. It will not fit 14mm wrist pin pistons without modification.
