Here are some of our recommendations for builds for the Wildcat 223 Hemi. From time to time, as new parts are developed, you may find alterations to these lists, but the goal is to have the best available option to build the Wildcat 223 Hemi to your ideal goal and budget. Reference back to our builder's guide blog for descriptions of each goal. Under Each build goal is the parts list with links to those parts to make it easy to get the parts ordered.

The Wildcat 223 was one of the first engines to enter the market with a 58mm stroke crankshaft which gave it a good advantage over 212cc engines, especially in low-speed torque. The Wildcat 223 has a highly reinforced block that is only second to the Tillotson R-Series block, which makes it the most durable engine, second to only the R-Series Engines. The advantage Wildcat has over Tillotson is cost. The Wildcat is much more affordable since it starts as a stock engine. That allows the end user to build the engine to any spec they want. In our opinion, we would only choose the Wildcat 223 or 236R engines as our starting platform. Not only are they bigger and stronger engines, but their durability also allows you to protect your investment better as you modify your engine or push the limits further than other engine platforms.
