Here are some of our recommendations for builds for the Harbor Freight Predator 212 Hemi. From time to time, as new parts are developed, you may find alterations to these lists, but the goal is to have the best available option to build the Predator 212 Hemi to your ideal goal and budget. Reference back to our builder's guide blog for descriptions of each goal. Under Each build goal is the parts list with links to those parts to make it easy to get the parts ordered.
The Predator Hemi is a great affordable base engine. However, it becomes much less reliable with higher performance modifications. We recommend the Tillotson 212R or Ghost 212 for 212cc engines. At the street/strip level, we recommend a stroker kit to make your Predator Hemi into a 223/224cc engine. If you plan to build a new engine at that level or higher, we recommend using the Wildcat 223 since it has a superior block and will make your overall build more affordable for the higher displacement. Or, if you don't want to start with a complete engine, the 236R engine kit is by far the best value.
